(a) On the first working day of every even-numbered month of the calendar year, between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., the taxicab licensee shall present to the Division of Police each licensed taxicab for the purpose of having each such taxicab thoroughly inspected to determine whether or not the same is safe and sanitary.
(b) If the taxicab is found to be in an unsafe or unsanitary condition, the licensee shall forthwith correct the defect and, upon failure to do so, shall be subject to having his or her taxicab operator’s license suspended or revoked.
(c) Failure to present a licensed taxicab for periodic inspection, as required in division (a) hereof, shall subject the licensee to a suspension or revocation of his or her license.
