751.02   OPERATOR’S LICENSE REQUIRED; FEE; EFFECTIVE PERIOD.
   (a)   No person shall engage in the business of operating taxicabs, automobiles or other vehicles for the transportation of persons for hire without first obtaining a license and paying an annual fee therefor of sixty-five dollars ($65.00) per vehicle. No such operator shall fail to comply with the provisions of this chapter as well as the relevant provisions of the Traffic Code.
   (b)   When licenses are issued for taxicab operation after July 1 of any year, the fee shall be one-half of the annual fee. All licenses shall expire on December 31 of the year for which they are issued.
