The Town Treasurer is authorized to pay the premium on the group life and hospital insurance carried by the town for its employees, and is authorized to deduct premiums on the employees’ covered dependents from their salaries and remit same to the insurance carrier if the employee wishes to carry insurance coverage for his or her eligible dependents under the town’s group policy.
