(A) The Treasurer shall give a receipt for all money received by him or her and he or she shall deposit the money each day in a depository authorized by the Board of Commissioners for that purpose; provided that the Treasurer need not make daily deposits when he or she has less than $250 of town money in his or her possession or custody. The Treasurer shall render to the Board of Commissioners once each month a full statement of his or her receipts and disbursements, and he or she shall, within 30 days following the end of each fiscal year, render to the Board of Commissioners a complete report of his or her financial transactions during the preceding fiscal year. Prior to the payment by him or her of any claim or account the Treasurer shall examine it to ascertain that it is due and that payment thereof has been duly authorized. The Treasurer shall cooperate with the Tax Collector in the collection of taxes, and he or she shall perform other duties as may be imposed upon him or her by law, the Town Charter, this code or the Board of Commissioners.
