The Committee on Unmanned Aircrafts systems of the Legislative Research Commission of the North Carolina General Assembly has found that unmanned aircraft systems have the potential to be a valuable tool in many areas, including law enforcement, public safety, agriculture and business. Additionally, the development and manufacture of unmanned aircraft systems could prospectively bring industry and jobs to the state. The Committee also recognizes the possibility for inappropriate and criminal usage of unmanned aircraft systems, and finds that there should be some guidance and regulation governing the lawful operation of unmanned aircrafts systems.
