§ 97.12 MAUSOLEUMS, MONUMENTS AND MARKERS.
    (A)   No mausoleums may be placed or located within a town cemetery after the effective date of this chapter.
   (B)   Monuments may be placed only in areas so designated on the town cemetery plat of record. The designated area may be enlarged, reduced or eliminated in accordance with the provisions for the amendment of town ordinances.
   (C)   (1)   Individual lots shall be marked with a bronze or stone marker placed flush with the ground on an apron.
      (2)   Tombstones and markers must have a 4 to 6-inch base border to facilitate mowing.
      (3)   No gravel or decorative rock is allowed around grave markers.
      (4)   Tombstones and markers must be set on foundations and set so tops are level with the sod and must be made of bronze, granite, marble or other suitable material approved by the Cemetery Administrator.
      (5)   Tombstones and markers should be installed under the supervision of the Cemetery Administrator.
      (6)   No grave marker or ledger shall be placed on top of any grave in which interment was not made in a vault made of metal, cement or other material that will not decay.
