(A) Permits covered by § 17 of the Fire Prevention Code and required in various articles thereof are for the purpose of giving the Board of Commissioners, through the Chief of the Fire Department, more effective control over hazardous conditions regulated by the code. Each permit shall be for not more than 1 year, subject to renewal thereof; provided, that where a town license is required periodically, in addition to a permit, then the permit shall be for an indefinite period.
(B) The Board of Commissioners may, by resolution, adopt a schedule of fees for permits and inspections required by the Fire Prevention Code, and when the resolution has been placed on file in the office of the Town Clerk, no permit shall be issued and no inspection shall be made until the fee therefor, as provided in the schedule, has been paid to the Tax Collector.
