The Mayor shall be the chief executive officer of the City. He/she shall be elected for a term of four (4) years at the regular municipal election in the year of 1985, and every fourth year thereafter, he/she shall assume office on the first day of January next following such election and serve until his/her successor is elected and qualified. No person shall serve as Mayor of the City for more than two (2) consecutive terms.
