(a) All employees of the City who elect to pay premiums for the insurance described in Section 149.06, while employed by the City, shall be considered as eligible to receive benefits under the contract.
(b) All employees who elect to subscribe for such insurance shall evidence their election in writing to the City Manager, thereby authorizing and directing the City Manager to deduct from the wages due and to become due to the respective employees a sufficient amount to pay current premiums for such insurance. The amount assessed for premiums under the insurance coverage shall be paid entirely by the employees so insured.
