6-2-17: PUBLIC FIRE PROTECTION:
   A.   Use Of Fire Hydrants: Fire hydrants are for use by the City or by organized fire protection agencies pursuant to contract with the City. Other parties desiring to use fire hydrants for any purpose must first obtain written permission from the Water Department prior to use and shall operate the hydrant in accordance with instructions issued by the Water Department. Use of the fire hydrants shall constitute "temporary service" and is subject to guidelines established in Section 6-2-19 of this Chapter. Unauthorized use of hydrants will be prosecuted according to law. (Ord. 94-10, 12-6-1994)
   B.   Moving Of Fire Hydrants: When a fire hydrant has been installed in the location specified by the proper authority, the City has fulfilled its obligation. If a property owner or other party desires to change in the size, type or location of the hydrant, he shall bear all costs of such charges, without refund. Any change in the location of a fire hydrant must be approved by the proper authority. (Ord. 91-40, 1-7-1992)
