6-2-19: TEMPORARY SERVICE:
   A.   Installation And Operation: All facilities for temporary service to the customer connection shall be made by the Water Department and shall be operated in accordance with its instructions. (Ord. 91-40, 1-7-1992; amd. 1993 Code)
   B.   Deposit: The applicant shall deposit, in advance, the estimated cost of installing and removing the facilities required to furnish said service exclusive of the cost of salvageable material. Upon discontinuance of service, the actual cost shall be determined and an adjustment made as an additional charge, refund or credit. If service is supplied through a fire hydrant, the applicant shall pay a refundable security deposit established by resolution of the Council and a nonrefundable setup fee as established by resolution of the Council.    C.   Responsibility For Meters And Installations: The customer shall use reasonable care to prevent damage to the meter or to any other loaned facilities of the City which are involved in furnishing temporary service from the time they are installed until they are removed, or until forty eight (48) hours' notice in writing has been given to the City that the contractor or other person is through with the meter or meters and the installation. If the meter or other facilities are damaged, the cost of making repairs shall be paid by the customer. (Ord. 91-40, 1-7-1992; amd. 1993 Code)
   D.   Use Of Fire Hydrants:
      1.   Permit Required; Fee: An applicant for temporary use of water from a fire hydrant must secure a permit therefor from the City and pay the necessary deposits and fees charged for the installation and removal of a meter to be installed on said hydrant; provide himself with a hydrant wrench necessary to operate such hydrant, or pay the City Council five dollars ($5.00) for the loan of such equipment, and pay for the water used in accordance with the meter readings, at the rates prescribed by the City Council.       2.   Unauthorized Use Of Hydrants: Tampering with any fire hydrant for the unauthorized use of water therefrom or for any other purpose, is a misdemeanor, punishable by law. (Ord. 91-40, 1-7-1992; amd. 1993 Code)
   E.   Rates: The rates for regular service shall be increased by fifty percent (50%) for temporary service. The minimum charge for water shall be twenty five dollars ($25.00). (Ord. 94-10, 12-6-1994)
   F.   Credit: The applicant shall pay the estimated cost of service in advance or shall be otherwise required to establish credit.
   G.   Duration Of Service: Temporary service connections shall be disconnected and terminated within six (6) months after installation unless an extension of time is granted in writing by the City. (Ord. 91-40, 1-7-1992; amd. 1993 Code)
