1111.06 GARBAGE RATES.
   (a)   Rates for residential (Class I) and commercial (Class II) customers beginning July 1, 2009.
      (1)   All occupied units must pay for garbage service in the City.
      (2)   Residential customers (Class I) must pay one hundred twenty-four dollars ($124) per year or may pay monthly at twelve dollars ($12) per month. Residential service must be contracted and paid through MUB.
      (3)   Commercial/Business customers (Class II), with commercial cans must pay two hundred dollars ($200.00) per year for one (1) pick-up each week, with a limit of six (6) cans each. Additional pick-ups per week will be charged accordingly (i.e., $400 per year, two pick-ups per week, $600 per year- three pick-ups per week, etc.). This service must be contracted with and paid directly to the City. Fees are due by the last day of the first month of the period for which payment is being made. The City’s finances are based on a Fiscal Year system, which begins on the first day of July of each year. Therefore, garbage fees for the new fiscal year must be paid by July 31st. Any customer needing more than six cans must convert to a dumpster (can size not to exceed 32 Gals). (Ord. 334. Passed 6-15-09.)
      (4)   Commercial/Business customers (Class III), with dumpsters, must contract with and pay directly to the appropriate PSC certified carrier for the City of Westover.

      (5)   Senior citizens age sixty-five (65) or older may receive a twenty-four dollar ($24.00) reduction in garbage fees when income is fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000) or less per household. Persons who qualify would pay one hundred dollars ($100.00) per year. To qualify, persons age 65 or older must sign a sworn affidavit before the City Clerk stating that their income is $15,000 or less. Falsifying an affidavit could result in a penalty of not less than twenty-five dollars ($25.00) or more than one hundred dollars ($100.00).
      (6)   A late fee of ten percent (10%) will be applied to each overdue bill for Class I and Class II customers.
