(a) No person shall discharge any firearm, air rifle or air pistol firing B.B.s or other pellets by compressed air, bow and arrow, cross bow or other types of firearms in, over, upon or across any public street, alleyway or sidewalk, or in, over, upon or across any other public property within the corporate limits of the City, or upon any private property within the corporate limits of the City with the exception of an approved archery or firing range.
(b) Any person violating the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not less than fifty dollars ($50.00) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) or confined in jail for not more than one hundred days, or both fined and confined. Such weapons may be confiscated by the Police Chief or his designee and held in custody for such time as is deemed appropriate before returning such to the convicted offender.
