(A) The Fire Prevention Code shall be administered and enforced by the Fire Prevention Board of the city, which is hereby established. The membership of that Board shall be composed of the Mayor, who shall be its permanent Chairperson, the President of the city’s Volunteer Fire Department, the Building Official of the city, and the Director of the County Health Department.
(B) The Fire Prevention Board shall prescribe its own rules and regulations governing its meetings and proceedings, and may, from time to time, promulgate, appropriate rules and regulations, not inconsistent with this city code and other ordinances of the city or the statutes of the state, which the Board may deem necessary for the proper and orderly administration and enforcement of the Fire Prevention Code.
(C) The Fire Prevention Board may delegate to the Fire Chief certain functions, duties, and responsibilities relative to the administration and enforcement of, and compliance with, the Fire Prevention Code; provided however, that all actions other than those of a routine nature contemplated being taken by the Fire Chief or his or her agents and inspectors, must first be reported to the Board as its regular meetings and such actions so contemplated being taken must first be approved by a majority of the members of the Board. The Board shall, in its rules and regulations, define those actions which are to be considered routine in nature.
