§ 50.04 ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR; ADMINISTRATION AND ENFORCEMENT OF CHAPTER.
   (A)   The Mayor, with the approval of the Common Council, shall appoint, or designate an appropriate city officer to serve as the electrical inspector, to administer and enforce the provisions of this chapter.
   (B)   When in the opinion of the electrical inspector the public interest so requires, the electrical inspector and his or her duly authorized representative, upon properly identifying themselves, shall have the authority to enter any building, structure, or other premises at any reasonable hour. The electrical inspector shall keep comprehensive records of inspections made, reports rendered, and notices or orders issued relative to the enforcement of the Electrical Code.
   (C)   In enforcing the Electrical Code, the electrical inspector shall be initially responsible for interpreting the rules and regulations contained in the Code, for deciding upon the approval of equipment and materials, and for granting the special permission contemplated in a number of the rules. Any ruling, interpretation, notice, or other such official act of the electrical inspector shall be reduced in writing and a copy thereof delivered in person, or mailed to the party or parties thereby affected at his, her, or their last known post office address.
