(A) The Cemetery Board shall consist of three members. The Mayor of the city shall be ex officio a member of the Board. The members of said Board shall be appointed by the Common Council for terms of four years each, commencing on July 1, following the completion of a term, with the exception that the term of one member of the initial Board to be appointed hereunder shall run from the date of enactment of this subchapter until June 30, 1977, and the term of the second member of the initial Board to be appointed hereunder shall run from the date of the enactment of this subchapter until June 30, 1978, and the term of the third member of the initial Board to be appointed hereunder shall run from the date of the enactment of this subchapter until June 30, 1979.
(B) In the event of death, resignation, inability, or unwillingness to serve of any member, the Common Council shall appoint a successor to such member to serve for the period of his or her unexpired term.
(C) Members of the Board shall receive their expenses and such remuneration as may be determined proper by the Common Council.
