(a) Each full-time or full-time part-time employee shall be paid for the following holidays each year and shall not be required to work on such holidays unless, in the opinion of the Supervisor/Commissioner, failure to work on such holidays would impair Village services;
(1) The First Day of January | New Year’s Day |
(2) The Third Monday of January | Martin Luther King Day |
(3) The Third Monday of February | President’s Day |
(4) The Last Monday of May | Memorial Day |
(5) The Fourth Day of July | Independence Day |
(6) The First Monday of September | Labor Day |
(7) The Second Monday of October | Columbus Day |
(8) The Eleventh Day of November | Veteran’s Day |
(9) The Last Thursday of November | Thanksgiving Day |
(10) The Twenty-Fifth of December | Christmas Day |
(11) The Nineteenth of June | Juneteenth |
(b) Any holiday falling on a Saturday shall be observed on the preceding Friday and any holiday falling on a Sunday shall be observed on the next succeeding Monday. In the event of new hires or if an employee quits or has his employment terminated in any way, the benefits of this chapter shall be pro-rated according to the portion of the year worked by the employee.
