§ 90.21 ANIMAL SACRIFICE.
   (A)   No person shall engage in, participate in, assist in or perform animal sacrifice. No person shall own, keep, possess or harbor any animal with the purpose or intention of using such animal for animal sacrifice. No person shall knowingly sell, offer for sale, give away or transfer any animal to any person when he or she knows or believes that person intends to use such animal for animal sacrifice. This section does not prohibit slaughter of animals for agriculture purposes.
   (B)   Nothing in this section shall be construed to prohibit, abridge or in any way hinder the religious freedom of any person or group. Notwithstanding any other provision of this act, in order to protect freedom of religion, ritual slaughter and the handling or other preparation of livestock for ritual slaughter are exempted from the terms of this section.
