If any person shall construct or cause to be constructed a sidewalk or curb which fails to comply with the provisions of this Chapter, whether as to location, grade or construction, such sidewalk shall be rebuilt or repaired in compliance with the provisions of this Chapter, pursuant to an order from the Department of Public Works. If such order be not obeyed, the Department, without prejudice to the penalties hereinafter provided, may cause the necessary work to be done at the expense of the person so in default. (1997 Code)
