A. Removal Required: The owner of the building, porch, steps, fence or other structure in violation of this Code now standing or which may hereafter be placed upon any street, sidewalk, alley or public ground in the Village, or which shall be left standing upon any new street or alley which may hereafter be opened therein, shall, upon notice from the Department of Code Enforcement, remove the same within a reasonable time to be stated in such notice.
B. Nuisance Declared; Abatement:
1. Nuisance Declared: Any private building, porch, steps, fence or other structure in violation of this Code is hereby declared to be a nuisance and may be abated as such.
2. Abatement Procedures: If the owner, after notice from the Department of Code Enforcement, shall fail to remove such building, porch, steps, fence or other structure in violation of this Code from such street, sidewalk, alley or public ground, the Department of Public Works shall cause the same to be removed or taken down, at the expense of such owner. Every person who shall obstruct or hinder any of officers in effecting such removal shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. (1997 Code)
