7-1-3: DISREGARDING A TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE:
It shall be a violation of this section for a vehicle to disregard a traffic control device or a no turn on red signal. For purposes of this section, "disregarding a traffic control device" shall mean a failure to stop and remain stopped before an intersection that is controlled by a red signal as provided for in section 11-306 of the Illinois vehicle code. For purposes of this section, "disregarding a no turn on red signal" shall mean a failure to stop and remain stopped, and to refrain from proceeding to turn right at, an intersection controlled by a sign indicating "no turn on red" or other similar language or signal, at a red signal as provided for in section 11-306 of the Illinois vehicle code. Violations of this section captured by an "automated traffic law enforcement system", as defined in section 7-5-2 of this title, may be prosecuted under the village's administrative adjudication of vehicle regulation violations program pursuant to chapter 5 of this title.
