6-6-1: POSSESSION BY UNDERAGE PERSONS PROHIBITED:
   A.   No person under the age of eighteen (18) shall possess within the Village any laser pointers of the following type:
      1.   A Helium Neon (HeNe) laser which typically operates at a wavelength of 632.8nMe with the mandated power limit of 5mW of power. Said lasers are considered Class 2 lasers with the potential for eye injury; and
      2.   A diode laser which typically operates at a wavelength of 670nMe (although others are possible) with a power source providing 5mW. Said lasers are considered Class 3A lasers, with the potential for eye injury.
      3.   Any other type of laser which has the potential for eye injury.
   B.   This prohibition shall not apply to:
      1.   A child using such a laser pointer while under the immediate supervision of his or her parent or legal guardian;
      2.   A student using such a laser pointer while under the immediate supervision of his or her teacher;
      3.   An employee using such a laser pointer at the direction and under the supervision of his or her employer. (Ord. 99-2078, 3-22-1999)
