6-2-2: STATUS OF ANIMALS WITHIN THE VILLAGE:
Animals kept within or on the property or premises of their owners; maintained by and provided with food or by being given other privileged use of privately owned property; brought into the Village; or otherwise present in the Village shall, for purposes of application of this chapter, be divided into two (2) classes:
   A.   Those animals whose ownership is established by a readable and current license tag, or whose ownership is promptly traceable by means of any other readable identification affixed to a collar or harness, or those animals whose ownership is certified to by a reliable witness and is immediately verifiable, are hereinafter classified as domesticated and protected animals.
   B.   Animals whose ownership cannot readily be established by any of the means stated in subsection A of this section are hereinafter classified as nondomesticated and unprotected animals. (Ord. 83-1657, 12-19-1983)
