A. Whenever in this code a minimum but not a maximum fine or penalty is imposed, the court may, in its discretion, fine the offender any sum exceeding the minimum fine or penalty so imposed but not exceeding one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) for each petty offense, one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00) for each class B or class C misdemeanor and two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500.00) for each class A misdemeanor. The offender shall also be responsible for the village's cost of prosecution including reasonable attorney fees.
B. Whenever in this code an offender is guilty of a class A, B or C misdemeanor, a sentence of imprisonment shall not be imposed upon the offender. (Ord. 01-34, 10-8-2001)
