§ 154.036 DUTIES.
   The Village Zoning Inspector shall be responsible for the following duties.
   (A)   Zoning permits. The Zoning Inspector shall review all applications within the village for zoning permits as outlined in §§ 154.080 through 154.083 to ensure they conform to all applicable provisions of these zoning regulations, issue such permits when appropriate, and maintain a record of all such permits.
   (B)   Inspections. The Zoning Inspector may periodically conduct on-site inspections to ensure the actual construction of buildings and structures and the use of land conforms to an approved zoning permit, an approved conditional use permit, any applicable requirements of these zoning regulations, and/or the conditions and restrictions set forth for an approved appeal, variance or planned development.
   (C)   Notice of violation. The Zoning Inspector, upon finding that any of the provisions of these zoning regulations are being violated, shall notify, in writing, the person responsible for such violation and order the action necessary to correct such violation.
   (D)   Enforcement. The Zoning Inspector may institute injunction, mandamus, abatement or any other appropriate action or proceeding to prevent, enjoin, abate or remove any unlawful location, erection, construction, reconstruction, enlargement, change, maintenance or use within the jurisdiction of these zoning regulations.
   (E)   Plat review. The Zoning Inspector shall review all applicable subdivision plats and lot splits within the Village of West Alexandria which are submitted to the Village of West Alexandria Planning Commission in order to determine if the plat or lot split conforms to all applicable provisions of these zoning regulations.
   (F)   Timely action on applications. Either a zoning certificate or a written notification and explanation of refusal shall be issued by the Zoning Inspector to the applicant within ten working days of its date of filing. Failure to notify the applicant of such refusal within such period shall entitle the applicant to submit his or her request to the Village Planning Commission.
   (G)   Record maintenance. The Zoning Inspector shall maintain and keep all pertinent records required by these zoning regulations, including, but not limited to, the Official Zoning District Map(s), zoning certificates, inspections, and all official zoning actions of Village Council, the Village Planning Commission and the public.
