A. An administrative fee of four hundred dollars ($400.00) is imposed upon the registered owner of an impounded motor vehicle or the agents of any such owner.
B. The fee imposed in this section shall be collected by and paid to the city. The fee imposed by this section is in addition to:
1. Any other penalties that may be assessed by a court of law for the underlying violations; and
2. Any towing or storage fees, or both, charged by the person, firm, or entity that tows and stores the impounded vehicle.
The administrative fee shall be waived by the city upon verifiable proof that the vehicle was stolen at the time the vehicle was impounded.
C. Towing or storage fees, or both, shall be collected by and paid to the person, firm, or entity that tows and stores the impounded vehicle. (Ord. 020612, 2-6-2012)
