No person shall sell, offer for sale, exhibit or give away any publication or other article, including, but not limited to, writings, pictures, photographs, photographic film, phonograph records, other sound recordings, and sculptures, which are obscene as judged with reference to ordinary persons of the age of the person to whom the sale or exhibition is made.
A thing is "obscene" if, considered as a whole, its predominant appeal is to prurient interest, that is, a shameful or morbid interest in nudity or sex, and if it goes substantially beyond customary limits of candor in description or representation of such matters. (1994 Code)
