A person commits an assault when, without lawful authority, he engages in conduct which places another in reasonable apprehension of receiving a battery.
No person shall assault another with a lethal weapon, instrument or thing with intent to inflict upon the person of another any bodily injury, where no considerable provocation appears, or where the circumstances of the assault show malice. (1994 Code)
