§ 76.29 DUTY OF PARKING METER ATTENDANTS; CITATIONS.
   (A)   It shall be the duty of the parking meter attendants of the village acting in accordance with the instructions issued by the Village Administrator to report:
      (1)   The number of each parking meter which indicates that the vehicle occupying the parking space adjacent to such parking meter is, or has been, parked in violation of any of the provisions of this subchapter and the Chapter 78, Schedule III;
      (2)   The date and hour of such violation;
      (3)   The state license number of such vehicle; and
      (4)   Any other facts and knowledge which is necessary to a thorough understanding of the circumstances attending such vehicle.
   (B)   Parking meter attendants shall attach to any illegally parked vehicle a notice to the owner or operator that such vehicle has been parked in violation of the provisions of this subchapter and Chapter 78, Schedule III, instructing such owner or operator to report at police headquarters of the village in regard to such violation.
   (C)   Each owner or operator may after receipt of notice of illegal parking as provided for herein pay the sum of $3 by placing it in the envelope provided with such notice and placing the envelope in one of the boxes affixed to several parking meters in the village, or by paying the same at police headquarters before 9:00 a.m. of the day following that in which said notice is issued. After 9:00 a.m. of the day following that in which said notice is issued, and within 48 hours after said notice is issued, to pay the sum of $2 at police headquarters in full satisfaction of such violation. Moneys so received or collected under this section shall be transmitted to the Village Treasurer and deposited in the General Fund.
   (D)   The failure of any owner or operator to make such payment, as herein provided, within the period of 48 hours after the issuance of said notice, shall subject such owner or operator to the penalties provided for in § 76.99.
