For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicated or required a different meaning.
CEMETERY. Includes a burial park for earth interments, a community mausoleum for vault or crypt interments, a crematory or crematorium and columbarium for cinerary interments or a combination of one or more than one thereof.
CERTIFICATE OF OWNERSHIP. Applies to the original conveyance given by the cemetery to the original purchaser.
CRYPT. Includes an underground chamber or vault serving as a burial place.
INTERMENT. The permanent disposition of the remains of a deceased person by cremation and interment, entombment or burial.
LOT. Applies to numbered divisions as shown on the record plat which consists of two or more plots.
LOT MAKER. A type of post used by the cemetery to locate comers of the lot or plot.
MAUSOLEUM. Includes a large, imposing tomb or small building serving as a burial place.
MEMORIAL. A monument, marker, tablet, headstone, tombstone, urn and crypt and niche place.
MONUMENT. Includes a tombstone or memorial or granite or marble which shall extend above the surface of the ground.
PLOT. Applies to a space of sufficient size to accommodate one adult interment approximately three feet by ten feet.
TEMPORARY MARKER. Includes markers made of synthetic or metallic materials such as wood, plastic, tin as obtained from funeral homes or other sources.
