The Chief of Police shall be a full-time employee of the City and shall devote to the duties of such office, as set forth in both the Charter and the Codified Ordinances, sufficient time necessary to fulfill such duties, but in no event shall less than forty hours per week be devoted to such duties, without the express consent of Council. With the express consent of Council, the Chief of Police may engage in other employment so long as such employment does not conflict with the duties and responsibilities required by the Charter and the Codified Ordinances.
