(a) There is hereby established a Police Department for the City of Wellsburg, West Virginia.
(b) The City of Wellsburg Police Department shall consist of the following members and ranks with the limitations on number as set out below:
(1) An elected Chief of Police as required by the City Charter;
(2) Up to one member with the rank of Captain;
(3) Up to one member of the rank of Lieutenant;
(4) Up to two members with the rank of Sergeant;
(5) Up to two members with the rank of Corporal;
(6) As many Patrol Officers as may be required.

(c) The duties of the members of the Wellsburg Police Department by rank shall be as specified in the “Rules and Regulations for the Government of the Police Department of Wellsburg, West Virginia”. (Ord. 95-8. Passed 12-12-95.)
