513.15 LICENSEES OF THE MEDICAL MARIJUANA CONTROL PROGRAM PROHIBITED TO OPERATE WITHIN THE VILLAGE.
   (a)   As used in this section:
      (1)   “Marijuana" means marihuana as defined in Ohio R.C. 3719.01.
      (2)    "Medical marijuana" means marijuana that is cultivated, processed, dispensed, tested, possessed, or used for a medical purpose.
   
   (b)   No person granted any license issued by the State of Ohio in connection with the Medical Marijuana Control Program established pursuant to Chapter 3796 of the Ohio Revised Code shall cultivate, process, dispense, or sell medical marijuana within the Village of Wellington.
   (c)   No person, having authority or responsibility over the use of premises, shall knowingly permit such premises to be used for in violation of subsection (b).
   (d)   Nothing in this section shall be deemed to prohibit research related to marijuana conducted at a state university, academic medical center, or private research and development organization as part of a research protocol approved by an institutional review board or equivalent entity.
   (e)   Whoever commits a violation of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree.
