Nominations for all elected offices of the Village shall be made by non-partisan petition only and no primary election shall be held to nominate officers of the Village. Nominating petitions shall be in the form determined by the election authorities provided under the general laws of Ohio, provided that the signatures of twenty-five (25) registered voters shall be required for any nomination to any elected office. Members of Council shall be elected at large. The fact that nomination is made by non-partisan petition shall not prevent any candidate from announcing his party membership to the public, subject to the provisions of any applicable state or federal laws.
