(A) At the regular municipal election to be held in 2011, and each four years thereafter, a qualified person who has been an elector of the Village for a period of at least one year prior to the time of filing for office shall be elected to the office of Mayor; the terms shall be for four years commencing on January 1 of the year following election. The Mayor shall continue to be a resident of this Municipality and a qualified elector thereof throughout the Mayor’s term of office.

(B) The Mayor shall not hold any other elected public office or be employed by or hold any other office in this Municipality, except that the Mayor may serve in any position as an authorized or designated representative of this Municipality on any board, commission, or other governmental entity, or to further intergovernmental cooperation and except that the Mayor is not prevented from serving in the State Militia or Reserve Corps of the United States, or as a Notary Public, or as an official of a political party, and may hold any office permitted by the Charter or the laws of Ohio, including service on the Charter Review Commission.
