(a) Each registrant shall pay initially a fee of fifty dollars ($50.00) for the registration as a contractor or builder under this chapter. Registration shall be for a calendar year and shall expire on January 30, in each year. Registration may be renewed upon payment of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) not later than such date. If renewal is delayed beyond January 30, in any year the fee shall be fifty dollars ($50.00) as in the case of a new registrant. There shall be no proration of fees for fractional parts of a year. (b) The bond filed with the Director of Finance shall likewise be renewed with each registration so that an active bond is always on file with the Director of Finance.
