(a) In a business or commercial district, each business shall be permitted fascia or wall signs. Projections of wall signs shall not exceed two feet (2 ft.) measured from the nearest part of the building except as specifically permitted within certain districts.
(b) The erection of outdoor advertising signs shall be permitted in all business or commercial districts provided such signs advertise a bonafide business or service conducted on the premises and the size of the sign shall be limited as provided herein.
(c) The area for all permanent signs located on the premises with any business use shall be limited to an area not to exceed one and one-half square feet (1½ sq. ft.) per one lineal foot of building width, but not to exceed two hundred square feet (200 sq. ft.).
(d) Freestanding signs serving an individual business or a group of business establishments shall be permitted if they have no more than a total sign area of one hundred square feet (100 sq. ft.) and are located not closer than either twenty feet (20 ft.) or the height of the sign, whichever is greater, to any street, right-of-way or adjoining lot line.
(e) Pole signs of symbolic design shall be permitted for automobile service stations and other similar business establishments provided:
(1) No part of such sign shall project into the right-of-way of any street or highway.
(2) The support of such sign shall be set back at least twenty feet (20 ft.) from any public right-of-way.
(3) The maximum area of any one (1) face of such sign located within the front yard shall not exceed fifty square feet (50 sq. ft.).
(4) The pole support of the sign shall not be less than fifty feet (50 ft.) from any lot in any R District nor within twenty feet (20 ft.) of the intersecting right-of-way of any State or Federal highway and major or secondary street.
