(a) All new or renovated facilities that are required to comply with the Ohio Basic Building Code shall be connected to a hard wired fire alarm system with a heat and smoke detector. The system shall meet or exceed all current Local or State Fire Codes.
(b) The system shall be designed to notify a monitored 24-hour Emergency Response Center, so as to have the capabilities of notifying the Wellington Police Department dispatch center, which in turn will notify the Wellington Community Fire District.
(c) The system shall be connected to the water flow switch (s), and the tamper switch (s). The fire alarm systems shall have standby batteries capable of exceeding 24 hour minimum of standby power to the system. The Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP) shall be installed in the interior of the facility, and accessible to the Fire Department at all times.
(d) The system shall be zoned properly to identify various areas of the facility.
(e) Before the fire alarm system is put into service, the Fire Chief or his representative shall be present to witness a full service test.
(f) The Fire Department shall be supplied with emergency contact phone lists with emergency contact phone numbers.
(g) A Lock Box shall be installed per the Fire Department specifications. The cost of the lock box and installation shall be the responsibility of the developer/facility owner.
(h) The fire alarm system and sprinkler system shall be tested as required per Ohio Fire Code by a Wellington Fire District State Certified Safety Inspector.
