(a) All service pipe from the union with the main to the stop and waste cock shall be a minimum of three-fourths inch inside diameter. Only copper or specified plastic shall be used. Copper, when used must be of the quality designated as Type "K". Plastic, when used, must be of the quality designated as ASTM-D - 2737 Polyethylene (PE) plastic tubing (SDR-PR). The depth at curb box shall be a minimum of three feet.
(b) Every service pipe shall be laid sufficiently waving, with at least six inches of extra length to prevent rupture by the settling of the street. The service pipes shall be placed at least three feet below the surface, and so protected as to prevent injury from freezing.
(c) No service pipes connected with the main by one ferrule, shall be extended into two distinct premises, dwellings or tenements, unless a special permit is issued therefor.
