The Police Department shall, under the supervision of the Police Chief:
(A) Preserve the peace and order of the city;
(B) Protect persons and property from injury or harm;
(C) Arrest and apprehend persons suspected of crimes and misdemeanors;
(D) Regulate traffic;
(E) Enforce laws and ordinances;
(F) Cause to be served and executed any criminal process issued by any court of competent jurisdiction in the city;
(G) Maintain proper records of criminal acts, criminals and arrests; and
(H) Have custody of lost and stolen property.
