§ 131.02 WEIRTON POLICE RESERVE.
   (A)   The Weirton Police Reserve is hereby established.
   (B)   The Weirton Police Reserve shall be organized and subject to such rules and regulations as shall be approved by the Weirton Police Reserves and the Police Chief.
   (C)   The Weirton Police Reserve shall render unpaid volunteer police service from time to time as requested by the Mayor of the city or the Police Chief. Members of the Weirton Police Reserve, while on duty, shall have such arrest powers as are granted by and consistent with the statutes and common law of the state.
   (D)   The Weirton Police Reserve, while on duty, shall wear such uniforms and insignia as provided for in the rules and regulations of the Weirton Police Reserve as approved by the Police Chief. Members of the Weirton Police Reserve shall be furnished with such equipment as provided for by the rules and regulations of the Weirton Police Reserve and the Police Chief. Any uniforms, insignia or equipment issued by the city shall remain the property of the city.
   (E)   All members of the Weirton Police Reserve shall be subject to suspension or dismissal for cause in the manner provided by the rules and regulations of the Weirton Police Reserve as approved by the Police Chief.
   (F)   All rules and regulations of the Weirton Police Reserve shall become effective, after adoption, only upon approval in writing by the Police Chief.
   (G)   The Weirton Police Reserve is hereby created for the purpose of rendering assistance to the Police Department and it is expressly understood that the establishment of the Weirton Police Reserve shall not in any way affect the recruitment or employment of members of or by the paid Police Department of the city.
