§ 1705.02 BUILDING PERMIT FEES.
   (A)   Building permits shall be issued on suitable forms provided by the Chief Code Official. Each permit will require a fee which shall be based on the estimated cost and is in accordance with the following schedule:
      (1)   Residential.

$ 1,001 — $ 2,000
$ 10
$ 2,001 — $ 1, 000,000
$ 5 per thousand or fraction thereof
$ 1,000,001 and thereafter
$ 2.50 per thousand or fraction thereof
 
      (2)   Commercial and industrial.
 
$ 0 — $ 1,000
$ 5
$ 1,001 — $ 2,000
$ 10
$ 2,001 — $ 1,000,000
$ 5 per thousand or fraction thereof
$ 1,000,001 —
$ 5,000,000
$ 4 per thousand or fraction thereof
$ 5,000,001 and thereafter
$ 3 per thousand or fraction thereof
 
   (B)   A building permit shall be required for construction, enlargement, alteration, repair, remodeling or moving of a building structure, part of a building or structure or of any equipment.
   (C)   The term ESTIMATED COST, as referred to in this section, shall mean the reasonable cost for both labor and materials involved in the prosecution and completion of work, a job or a project, and all the parts thereof, until ready for use or occupancy.
   (D)   If no estimated cost is provided or a discrepancy occurs, whereby the accuracy of such estimated cost figures are in question, the following will be used by the Inspection Department:
 
$55 per square foot
All inhabited structures or areas
$25 per square foot
Garages, porches, decks, accessory buildings
$20 per square foot
Unfinished basements
