§ 1701.01 POWERS AND DUTIES.
   Pursuant to the authority contained in W. V. Code Chapter 8, Article 12, §15, the Chief Code Official, the Building Inspector and other code officials identified by the city shall have the power and authority to enter and inspect private premises to aid in the enforcement of any state law or municipal ordinance. Provided, that this section shall not be construed as purporting to authorize an unreasonable search and seizure prohibited by Section 6, Article III of the Constitution of this state. Said inspection of private premises shall take place during reasonable hours, shall be made after exhibiting proper identification and shall be made in the discharge of the duties of the Inspection Department.
