(A) This article shall be known as the City of Weirton Fire Prevention Code and there is hereby adopted, and incorporated by reference as if set out at length herein, for the purposes of prescribing regulations governing conditions hazardous to life and property from fire or explosion, that certain code known as the West Virginia State Fire Code as adopted and thereafter amended, by the State Fire Commission pursuant to W. V. Code § 29-3-5, except such portions as are herein modified, and from the date on which this section takes effect, the provisions thereof shall be controlling within the limits of the city.
(B) This article does not in any manner circumvent or override the West Virginia State Fire Marshal's exclusive jurisdiction over all state-owned buildings, or any other building or facility that falls under their jurisdiction.
