The Police Chief, with written permission of the Mayor and/or the City Manager, may designate an area within the city as a “shooting range” wherein the police of the city and such other persons as approved by the Police Chief may discharge firearms or weapons for the purpose of improving and acquiring skills and proficiency in the use of firearms or weapons.
