§ 1501.28 SERVICE OF ORDERS.
   (A)   The service of such orders as required by §§ 1501.25, 1501.26 and 1501.27, Orders to Eliminate Fire Hazards, Unsafe Buildings, and Unsafe Equipment may be made upon the owner, occupant or other person responsible for the conditions either by delivering the same to and leaving it with any person in charge of the premises, or in case no such person is found upon the premises, by affixing a copy thereof in a conspicuous place on the door to the entrance of the premises. Whenever it may be necessary to serve such an order upon the owner of premises, such order may be served either by delivering to and leaving with such person a copy of the order, or, if such owner is absent from the jurisdiction of the officers making the order, by mailing such copy to the owner's last known post office address.
   (B)   Any person operating or maintaining any occupancy, premises or vehicle subject to this Fire Prevention Code who permits any fire hazard to exist on such premises under his control or who fails to take immediate action to abate a fire hazard when ordered or notified to do so by the Fire Chief or his or her duly authorized representative shall be punished as provided in § 1501.99.
   (C)   Any order or notice issued or served as provided in this Code shall be complied with by the owner, operator, occupant or other person responsible for the condition or violation to which the order or notice pertains. Every order of such notice shall set forth a time limit for compliance dependent upon the hazard and danger created by the violation within a period of 30 days from date of issuance. In cases of extreme danger to persons or property immediate compliance shall be required. If the building or other premises is owned by one person and occupied by another, under lease or otherwise, the orders issued in connection with the enforcing of this Fire Prevention Code shall apply to the occupant thereof, except where the rules or orders requires additions or changes in the building or premises such as would immediately become real estate and be the property of the owner of the building or premises; such order or notice shall affect the owner unless the owner and occupant have otherwise agreed between themselves.
   (D)   No person shall remove a notice affixed under this section without authority to do so.
   (E)   No person shall use a building, premises or equipment in violation of a notice affixed under this section.
