§ 1501.24 INSPECTIONS OF BUILDINGS AND PREMISES.
   (A)   It shall be the duty of the Chief of the Fire Department to inspect, or cause to be inspected by the Bureau of Fire Prevention, or by the Fire Department officers or members, all buildings and premises, except the interiors of private dwellings, as often as may be necessary for the purpose of ascertaining and causing to be corrected any conditions liable to cause fire, or any violations of the provisions or intent of this Fire Prevention Code and of any other ordinance affecting the fire hazard, and to insure compliance in all buildings with all laws, regulations and orders dealing with overcrowding, use of decorative materials, maintenance of exit ways, and maintenance of fire alarm detecting systems, and fire extinguishing systems and appliances.
   (B)   The Chief of the Fire Department, Chief Inspector of the Bureau of Fire Prevention or an inspector upon the complaint of any person, or whenever he or she or they shall deem it necessary, shall inspect any buildings and premises within their jurisdiction.
   (C)   All buildings or structures in the city operated, used or occupied as a dance hall, club, lodge room, night club, rest home, school building, theater, mercantile establishment and all other public buildings, shall be surveyed by the Chief of the Fire Department, Chief Inspector of the Bureau of Fire Prevention, or any inspector thereof, to determine safe human occupancy limits in accordance with standards hereinafter adopted. In order to minimize the danger to life from fire, smoke, fumes or panic, all such buildings or structures shall be so protected and have such occupancy features as are required by such standards. The current standards of the National Fire Protection Association Code for Safety to Life from Fire in Buildings and Structures (N.F.P.A. 101), are hereby adopted and incorporated into this section as fully as if set out at length herein.
   (D)   The human occupancy limits shall be conspicuously posted in each of the buildings by the owner or occupant thereof.
