§ 505.14 CERTAIN ANIMALS AND REPTILES PROHIBITED TO BE KEPT WITHIN CITY EXCEPT PURSUANT TO LICENSE OR PERMIT.
   (A)   It shall be unlawful for any person to keep or harbor within the city any wild cat, bear or other wild animal of a species normally dangerous to human beings, including, but not limited to, a lion, tiger, panther, bobcat, cougar, leopard, jaguar, wolf, monkey, orangutan, gorilla, wolverine, badger, fox, raccoon, opossum, or any skunk from which the perineal glands have not been removed, or any venomous reptile, except pursuant to authority of a city license or permit which may be issued by the city’s Animal Control Official. This section shall not apply to any circus.
   (B)   It shall be unlawful for any person to keep or harbor within the city limits and livestock or farm animals, including, but not limited to, horses (except those recognized as a service horse with all certifications needed as such), cows, sheep, pigs, goats, ducks, peacocks or hens, wolf hybrids, bison, buffalo, oxen, camels, emus, ostriches, deer, bulls, llamas, alpacas, alligators, crocodiles, or any livestock or farm-related animals, except pursuant to authority of a city license or permit which may be issued by the city’s Animal Control Official. This section shall not apply to any circus.
   (C)   Whoever violates the provisions of divisions (A) and (B) of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and be fined up to the sum of $500 or jailed for a period of up to 30 days, or both. The animal shall be confiscated and disposed of by the city Animal Control Officer, or Hancock or Brooke County Animal Control Officer.
