Any person, firm or corporation that violates any provision of this article or fails to comply with any notice sent in relation to this article shall, upon summons or warrant, be required to appear before the municipal court of the city and, if convicted of a violation of this article, may be fined not less than $20 nor more than $500, or may be imprisoned not more than 30 days, or both. Each five days that any such person, firm or corporation fails to comply with any provision hereof shall constitute a separate offense. The imposition of any penalty under the provisions of this article shall not excuse the violation, neglect or noncompliance therewith; nor permit or allow the continuance of any such violation and any person violating, neglecting or failing to comply with the provisions of this article shall be required to correct, or remedy such violations.
