3-5-3: CONDITIONS OF SALES:
   A.   Property Permitted To Be Sold: It shall be unlawful for any individual to sell or offer for sale, under authority granted by this chapter, property other than personal property. (Ord. 89-09, 5-2-1989)
   B.   Multiple Residence Sale: Members of more than one residence may join in a garage sale to be conducted at the residence of one of them, subject to the limitations in the following subsection. (Ord. 89-09, 5-2-1989; amd. 1998 Code)
   C.   Limitation On Number Of Sales: No more than two (2) sales may be conducted by members of one residence and/or family household during any calendar year. If members of more than one residence join in conducting a sale, then this sale shall be considered as one for each and all participating residences.
   D.   Hours Of Operation: Such garage sales shall be limited in time to no more than the daylight hours of three (3) consecutive days.
   E.   Display Of Sale Property: Personal property offered for sale may be displayed within the residence, in a garage, carport and/or a rear yard, but only in such areas. No personal property offered for sale at a garage sale shall be displayed in the front or side yard areas of any such premises or in any public right- of-way. (Ord. 89-09, 5-2-1989)
   F.   Signs: With the consent of the property owner, a sign may be displayed during the time that a garage sale is in progress on the property. Said sign may be displayed only on the property of the residence where the garage sale is being conducted during the time the sale is in progress, and may not exceed eight (8) square feet in surface area. No such signs shall be posted outside of such residential property nor to any utility poles or other public property. The Zoning Officer of the Village reserves the right to disapprove the display of a sign during the time in which a garage sale is in progress, and said disapproval shall not be unreasonably exercised by the Zoning Officer of the Village.    G.   Maintenance Of Order: The individual conducting the sale and the owner or tenant of the premises on which such sale or activity is conducted shall be responsible for the maintenance of good order on the premises during such sale. In the event good order is not maintained or the sale shall violate any of the provisions of this chapter, the person violating the provisions hereof shall be subject to the penalties provided in accordance with section 3-5-4 of this chapter.
   H.   Parking: The Police Department may enforce temporary traffic and parking controls to alleviate any hazards or congestion created by any garage sale. (Ord. 89-09, 5-2-1989)
